In most cases, a punching bag is lighter than a bag, so working on it is a little different. There are many types of training on the punching bag, but the main thing is to always try to clearly divide your training on the punching bag or bag into rounds, so the muscles and ligaments will have time to recover, and the progress in increasing the rounds will be obvious. Let's take a closer look at training with a punching bag.
- If you train in a boxing gym, it will be very useful to work in the boat around the projectile, while alternating the "jab" with the deuce, right left straight, (work with the second number).
- We work with the first number, if you are orthodox, we throw the left one, which is distracting, in the area of the head with a cut and we plant the accented right one in the area of the spleen, after coming close to the pear, keeping our hands near the chin, a sharp push and punch the cross, and then again.
- Work on defense and counterattack; training takes place at medium and short distances. After hitting a certain combination, the pear will start to shake, as a rule, two hits are enough. As soon as the punching bag starts flying in your direction, perform a slant with an offset from the line of attack, you can also add various counters from the slant, as Mike Tyson did.
- Practicing single power accented blows. As a rule, it is carried out on a wall pillow, but if there is none, then a punching bag is quite suitable.
- Developing combinations. Every boxer has his favorite punches and combinations of punches - they are combinations. These blows come out to him fast, whipping and hard. A punching bag is quite suitable for working out crown combinations, as it is very convenient to use it for all punches, including uppercuts (the same cannot be said for a cylindrical punching bag). In order for the training to be productive, the combinations to be practiced must be prepared in advance. You can see how to do it here. Many combinations can be worked out in the boat, if the combinations require close combat, then we work in the "shuffle".
- And, of course, jump shots. Many call them jump shots. Basically, jumping kicks are delivered with the hand standing in front, and it can be "straight", "side" and "uppercut". So, the uppercut is best practiced on a punching bag, as already mentioned, due to its pear-shaped shape (as opposed to a cylindrical punching bag).
- Endurance training. Here you need a partner who controls the time. The practice consists in a variable pace, as in a real free fight. For example, for the first minute of the round, you work in a boat at a calm pace, throwing "jabs", sometimes adding combinations. After a minute, your partner gives a signal, maybe a clap. You are required to have maximum acceleration, maximum power, and the blows must not stop. As a rule, within 10-20 seconds after the next clap, measured work begins again, and so on for 2-3 rounds. A punching bag can't give up, so don't forget to stand in pairs sometimes.
